A View from the Porch (February 12, 2015)

We’ve been busy at St. Agnes’ House, getting ready for Diocesan Convention.  This year the Convention will be held in Morehead.  Convention is a great chance to meet so many of you in person.  It’s a great way to say, “thank you” to you, your parishes, and to the Diocese who makes it possible for people to have a nice place to stay during a really tough time.

Our theme this year is, “Have a Heart for St. Agnes’ House.”  So, of course, we’re giving out chocolate hearts.  Board member Flo Mayer and Mary and Reynold will be greeting people at our table, too.  All-in-all, it’s a great time to reconnect.

Yet, even more, being together reminds all of us that St. Agnes’ House very existence is rooted in how our Diocese, how we of the Diocese together, live out Christ’s work in our region.  It reminds us of our call to be Christ to the very people we live with.

If you’re going to the Convention, we hope you’ll stop by and see us.  If not, please include us in your prayers.

And enjoy this view from the porch yesterday when the sun was shining and the flowers of spring starting to peep through the ground!

Love, Rebecca

I think eventually, the green will turn into crocuses.

You have to look closely to see the little white flowers blooming...harbingers of spring.
